Take a Break – are you out of steam?

When do you keep pushing on? Sure you have to work like crazy to get your network marketing business into top gear, but do you never stop?

Some days you wake up feeling uninspired. Well I used to believe that actions followed emotions. You know the old excuse – ‘Well I’m not in the mood so I’ll wait till inspiration strikes.’ That’s a bit like getting struck by lightening, which is pretty rare.

If you make yourself start on a project or some of your daily business building activities, then inspiration and energy begin to flow in. You feel better and your momentum builds up. The emotions have changed because you took some action. But sometimes this doesn’t work. [click to continue…]

Generating leads; finding the right people to talk to; developing communication and sponsoring skills; these are certainly important. You won’t get far if you can’t build a team. But I knew someone who was good at all these things. Their team grew; lots of new distributors and enthusiasm and then attrition set in and it collapsed. Then more new team members……and the cycle started again. So what was missing? Maybe some of these…..

The following qualities are the foundation blocks on which you build.

Commitment: this is the ‘never give up’ quality that is your first requirement. Never give up on you; your dream; your team. If you don’t have this, you are doomed. But it is also important that your team feels this from you – it will inspire them. [click to continue…]

Something that new team members struggle with is being consistent with their business building activities. Often this happens if they are under some kind of stress. You know the kind of excuse – well I wasn’t feeling very positive so I thought I should wait till I was more in the mood.

No, no, no! I used to think that actions follow emotions. In other words you perform better when you are feeling in a good state of mind. Well that is true, up to a point. But if you keep waiting till tomorrow to get the mood right before you do it…..well you know what – tomorrow never comes. [click to continue…]

Work Hard but have Fun

During my team training yesterday I was struck by how much laughter there was. People were having a ball and there was some serious business building information being shared as well. Just how it should be.

In ‘Think and Grow Rich’, Napoleon Hill talks about the 7 positive emotions of desire; faith; love; sex; enthusiasm;  romance and hope. He says that if we do not focus on these, there is no hope of finding wealth in our lives. If we are going to build a solid and loyal team, we need to approach people from the basis of these emotions. [click to continue…]
