The ‘Other’ 5 Pillars

I must give thanks to Richard Dennis for this great information, which I gleaned from a fantastic talk he gave in early July on one of the free training calls hosted by Mentoring for Free. Follow his link at the end of this article.

The first 2 pillars are the kind of qualities you should look for in the team you are joining within the company. The next 3 relate to the company.

1) A Leader who makes things simple
Vital otherwise people freeze up. A leader should be able to teach small, daily tasks that accumulate over time to build success. Distributors can easily test the system to see if it works and this builds trust.
So, talk to the leader and check out the team you are thinking of joining.

2) Understand their real motivation
A hallmark of the team you join. If they just sign you up because you are there…….bad news. Everyone has a different hot button and its not always making a load of money. A sponsor who gets to know you and what makes you tick will help you achieve what you want and not what he wants. Result is you find success and so does he!

3) Mark-up
Most MLM companies have products in the health and wellness line. This kind of product has always kept pace with inflation, unlike technological and some service products which typically lose value. This makes good business sense and the mark up on these is very high. People are happy to pay for these and it gives the company a good profit margin – so there is no excuse for the compensation plan not rewarding you well.

4) Autoship
Critical to long term residual income. Why? Think of it as a business expense. Regular monthly commitment means someone is more serious about their business and so is more likely to build it. Check out the autoship. Is it basically what you would personally consume in the month and perhaps use for a few samples? That’s fine, but more might be top loading. Regular purchase makes for steady product turnover and company profit.

5) Power of One
The best business model should be one where the Power of One works. You sponsor one new person each month and teach your downlines to do the same. After 6 months you will have 64 people in your team – some cash coming in. But after 12 months you will have 4096 people!! Now that should be profitable. Is this realistic? Well not everyone will work to plan but if you had half that number after 12 months you would be doing great.
