Business Building

If they’re breathing, sponsor’em! Well we don’t do that anymore….or do we? Many companies still push ‘recruit, recruit’, even if the methods are more tailored to the 20th century and the internet. So let’s look at some points:

  • Should you always lead with the business?
  • Indeed should you lead with everyone you meet?
  • Who do you want in your team?

Let me share my experience of a conventional business I started back in 1981. Some of you know I had a small construction business then. In my first couple of years I used to take on pretty much any work that came my way. Full order books; wrong strategy; not profitable. I wasn’t focused on a niche and I was doing work for which my skills were not best suited.

Then I learnt what my strong points were. I developed the courage to turn work away and I became profitable, without ever needing to advertise.

‘So what,’ you say, ‘this is network marketing.’ But there are parallels so let me explain. [click to continue…]

Have you reached your goals? Why not?

by Charlie on November 1, 2010

It’s November already; 2010 is nearly over. Are you going to be able to wear that t-shirt? I’m sure you all started the year with goals and targets for 2010. You certainly should have done so. Have you achieved them?

For many the answer will be ‘no’. Now what does that mean? First there is no need to over-react. If you have set the bar high, then falling short does not indicate terrible failure but some self assessment is a good thing.

  • Were your targets realistic?
  • Has your activity been consistent enough?
  • Have you applied course corrections?
  • Is more personal development needed?
  • Are you really duplicating the system you are using? [click to continue…]

We always get fired up after events like our MLM company convention. But then we get home and that high energy drops a bit. So how do you convert that energy into real success? How do you move to earning twice what you now earn now – and more?

Simple – consistency and accountability. That’s all?

If you saw the videos I posted with Marcello Lisi, you will know about ‘The Slight Edge’. I can truly say that applying this principle has been the biggest single factor in moving my business forward over the last 2 years. [click to continue…]

MLM Annual Convention – insights, pt 2 of 3

by Charlie on September 12, 2010

What price will you pay for success? In my network marketing company the highest level a distributor can reach is that of Presidential. Anyone who achieves that has surely paid a price to get there.

In his keynote speech, one of our Presidential distributors asked who else in the hall wanted to reach that level. Well, every hand went up to the accompaniment of loud roars and cheers! Then he asked who would like to get kicked in the face and rejected 500 times – not so many hands went up. [click to continue…]

Climbing the ladder of MLM success is a step by step process. Have you ever tried to climb a ladder 2 or 3 rungs at a time? Not a good idea. Most of you here may be well on the way to building a big business. But I believe these principles still apply and certainly it is important to encourage your new team members to work in this way.

You start off and have ambitions of earning 100,000 a year. But how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time or you’ll get indigestion!

So to start off you need to have the big vision and the goals. Know what they are, then put them aside and work to a step by step plan.

I remember when I learnt to swim aged about 7. [click to continue…]

July 14, 2010

In my previous post we reached a point where your prospect realises he wants to make some changes and he asks you what you do. Try the magic words ‘which means’ to connect your business to one of your products or services: “I am in the skin care business which means that we have this [...]

MLM Secret – improve presentation skills, pt 2

July 12, 2010

Most people – about 90% – are sales resistant, even if they are prospects for your business. So how can you overcome this? In my last post I shared a question that Tom ‘Big Al’ Schreiter suggested as a way to get people to open up and say genuinely whether they enjoy what they do [...]

MLM Secret – improve presentation skills, pt 1

July 10, 2010

I went to a workshop with Tom ‘Big Al’ Schreiter a couple of days ago. Chatting with him afterwards, he said “I don’t really believe in the Law of Attraction that much.” Well that floored me when you think how much we all talk about attracting the right people, positive attitudes etc. but he went [...]

Network Marketing – a risky business

July 7, 2010

We can’t avoid risks in life. Although network marketing is low risk, too many people make the mistake of thinking it is risk free. One thing that contributes to that is that the start up cost in most companies is very low. But don’t forget you will have to make monthly product purchase in most [...]

MLM Success Tips – close the deal, not

June 26, 2010

Usually people with a strong sales background are not very successful in MLM. Yet Jim Rohn used to say that when he discovered sales at the age of 25, it dramatically changed his life. My own team leader, the most successful distributor in my company often stresses the importance of selling product. But we also [...]
