How important is a long term business plan? What should you expect to see? Ten or twenty years; fifty years? Of course things can change drastically despite the best laid plans and intentions. However, if a network marketing company has been set up truly for the sake of the distributors, then it is reasonable to expect a long term plan to be in place.
Am I being too fussy? Do you think I am scaremongering? As a mentor and student of the industry I have seen too many examples of people who set up a company, milked it and then allowed it to collapse. In some cases they have gone public with it. Despite what you might think, this is not to the advantage of the distributors. The shareholders pull the strings; decisions are taken to satisfy them; they take dividends and less is paid to the guys in the field – you and me.
Closely tied up with this pillar is the final one – stated core values. And I mean stated; not just assumed because you imagine they must be there. Of course things change and sometimes the best intentioned person goes off the rails. That is human nature. But with what you will be investing in your business in money, emotion, energy and hard sweat; surely you must expect to see clearly stated solid values. Look for those too.

Hi Charlie,
If a company is not 100% transparent I wouldn’t trust what they have to offer. Honesty is the only policy.
I engage in a practice called cash gifting. It’s a private work at home activity where people help one another with cash. My club makes it explicitly clear that the sum of money changing hands is a cash gift and nothing else. This is noted a few times on the site.
The transparent nature of our club made it easy for me to choose it.
Thanks for sharing your insight and have a powerful day!

Hi Ryan
you make a very good point about transparency. Unfortunately a company may appear transparent in that things are openly stated as your own case; however if there is no real long term business plan, for example, could one be sure that they are thinking far enough ahead?
I am not am authority on what you do, but my guess is that a business plan is not applicable in the same way as in a network marketing company, where the lack of it now concerns me.
as always I appreciate your visits
